Best Ball B&B nearby some of the world's finest salmon and halibut fishing.

A few years ago son Lane, caught a king salmon in the Kenai River.  It was the first summer he had a chance to sport fish.  (68lbs)

After years commercial fishing and catching all sizes, landing "just for fun" this "barn door" halibut was a thrill for son, Rick.

Both sons commercial fished for years to get through college.  They fished various salmon fisheries around the state.  Fished in drift boats where boats go out to find fish.  Also fished set netters beach sites where fish come to beach and get caught in gill nets.

Both also commercial halibut fished in several fisheries.  Which involves setting baited hooks spread out on a line in an area anchored well, and marked by buoys.  Fishers later go back to anchored hooks to check the catch.

Kenai Peninsula, known for HUGE salmon.  Not far from Kenai, local chain saw artist--wood carver keeps busy.  Didn't take much to talk Mom (80 yrs) into climbing on.

Host's preferred method of catching red salmon, yearly resident dip netting at Kenai River mouth.  Interesting to watch dip netting July 15-31 and commercial salmon fishing in the area. (July- August)
